PDI Hires Pinnacle’s Mize

TEMPLE, Texas – In a move that creates a bridge between two well-known c-store software platforms, Drew Mize, the soon-to-be former president of The Pinnacle Corp., will join the PDI team, in the wake of PDI’s announced purchase of Pinnacle’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

Mize will become vice president of PDI/Pinnacle operations for the Temple, Texas-based PDI and will spearhead PDI’s integration strategy following the acquisition announced last week. Arlington, Texas-based Pinnacle will be moving forward with its point-of-sale, payments, loyalty and mobile solutions, which were not part of the PDI purchase.

“We are very pleased to welcome Drew to PDI,” said Jimmy Frangis, CEO of PDI, in a press release. “This is an exciting time for our company, and Drew brings a wealth of experience to this position. Given his prior leadership role within Pinnacle, he will be key to ensuring the seamless transition of Pinnacle’s solutions and customers.”

Mize brings more than 20 years of industry-specific experience in strategy and development to his new role, PDI officials said. He spent the last 11 years in various positions at Pinnacle, including vice president of retail solutions, vice president of product management and marketing, chief operating officer and most recently, as president.

“PDI is a longtime respected leader in our industry, and I’m thrilled about the opportunity to join this team,” Mize said. “The success of this integration and the satisfaction of our customers is our number one priority. I look forward to being a part of that and the future growth of this company.”

Mize will report to Bo Harvey, senior vice president and general manager of North America operations for PDI.

PDI provides software, hardware and professional services to convenience retailers and wholesale-petroleum marketers. Over 500 companies operating more than 50,000 locations worldwide use PDI’s software for retail automation, business intelligence, financial reporting, workforce management and end-to-end supply fuel-chain management and logistics.
