PerformanceRetail Expands Retail Intelligence Suite

Updated software offers new capabilities, enhanced visibility for retailers

AUSTIN, Texas-- PerformanceRetail, a leading provider of web-based retail intelligence software for retailers and their suppliers, has introduced the latest version of its InSite Retail Intelligence Suite.

Now in its third generation, the InSite Retail Intelligence Suite delivers visibility into product, cashier, store and chain-level performance through an intuitive web-based interface, enabling retailers to quickly identify business issues and trends and take proactive steps to improve overall retail performance.

Heightened [image-nocss] by recent volatility in fuel prices and margins, the need for better visibility into store, category and item-level sales and margin performance has never been higher for convenience retailers, the company said. Traditionally, retailers have been forced to spend significant time and money to customize accounting-centric reporting tools or complicated business intelligence toolkits that were never designed to provide retail merchandising and operational managers with appropriately packaged, timely and consistent visibility into operational data. The InSite Retail Intelligence Suite fills this need with a suite of packaged, retailer-specific reports and analytics that can be quickly deployed over existing systems and deliver fast return on investment.

The announcement highlights feedback from the company's market-leading customers and advances InSite's loss prevention, category management and sales and operations functionality. Specifically, InSite's detailed item movement and velocity reporting has been enhanced with the new InSite Explorer, an interactive, drillable view into detailed category and item-level sales and margin performance by hour, day, week, month or year, with trend reporting from period to period.

A new Sales-per-Labor-Hour dashboard has also been added, enabling retailers to view labor efficiency by store or specific category (such as foodservice). Also, InSite's loss prevention suite has been enhanced with loss prevention-specific cashier scorecards, as well as expanded loss prevention reports on interesting (suspect) transactions, cashier sales performance, tender-type analysis and stalled items. InSite's category management functionality has been extended to include enhanced reporting on top/bottom movers, product affinities and a new set of vendor performance reporting, allowing retailers to track sales to the item-level for specific vendors.

"This new version of InSite builds on our commitment to bring unprecedented visibility to our customers and defines a new set of metrics for the convenience retailer," said Marc Hafner, president and CEO of PerformanceRetail, Austin, Texas. "By delivering packaged retail analytics though our low- risk, on-demand business model, we're enabling retailers to cost-effectively gain new insights into their businesses and improve overall performance."

Delivered as a secure service over the Internet or a corporate network, InSite is hosted and accessed through a standard browser, significantly streamlining deployment times and eliminating the considerable hardware and software investments required with other products. Also, InSite operates as an overlay to third-party point-of-sale, backoffice and pricebook systems, enabling users of these systems to achieve new levels of business visibility.

InSite is also built to support interface standards defined by the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) as they are defined and evolve.
