Plaid Pantry Updates POS

Selects Ultimate Technology workstations

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Plaid Pantry Inc. has selected Ultimate Technology Corp.'s UltimaTouch 1800 Series POS Touch Workstation for deployment to its 100 convenience store locations in Oregon and Washington. The UltimaTouch is an all-in-one touchscreen workstation with a hinged design that promotes easy access for upgrades and maintenance.

As part of a full-solution approach Rochester, N.Y.-based open system point-of-service (POS) hardware solutions and services provider Ultimate Technology performed staging services including application load, custom system [image-nocss] settings and solution integration testing. In addition, the design of the 1800 Series was enhanced allowing Plaid Pantry to lower installation and ongoing service and software support costs.

We anticipate that this update will meet our point-of-sale demands and reduce maintenance and failure costs, said Brad Buckmaster, IT manager for Plaid Pantry, Beaverton, Ore.

The UltimaTouch 1800 Series features a large, bright 15-inch LCD, in rugged housing. Additionally, the 1800 Series is designed with expansion in mind, as it offers plenty of input/output as well as a PCI slot for special applications such as wireless operation.
