POS Passeport Gilbarco Soutient L'Operation Bilingue Pour les Detaillants Canadiens

Gilbarco Passport POS supports bilingual operation for Canadian retailers
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root's next-generation Passport point-of-sale (POS) system for Canada debuts this fall. Passport supports Gilbarco's FlexPay EMV CRIND at the fuel dispensers and also provides a path to EuroPay, MasterCard, Visa (EMV) and Payment Card Industry Payment Application Data Security Standard (PCI PA-DSS) compliance. Passport and FlexPay EMV CRIND will support Chip & PIN in addition to standard magnetic stripe card transactions.

Retailers benefit from an easy upgrade from their Gilbarco G-SITE POS system. An intuitive touchscreen shortens [image-nocss] cashier training time and increases accuracy. Special features help cashiers process transactions quickly and accurately in French or English. Managers have powerful business tools to better manage employees and enjoy tighter tracking and control over their businessas well as competitive features to increase profitability and growth.

Passport's architecture separates payment functions from other POS features, minimizing the impact of future regulatory changes and allowing faster delivery of new features unrelated to payment. Passport integrates the entire site: POS, tank monitor, dispensers and payment systems for consolidated control and reporting.

"The addition of EMV and bilingual support illustrates the flexibility of the Passport architecture to adapt to new regulatory and business requirements," said Andrew Robinson, director of POS marketing at Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

More than 16,000 Gilbarco FlexPay EMV CRIND terminals are installed worldwide, the company said, including sites with leading retailers in Canada. These pay-at-the-pump terminals meet EMV 1 & 2, PCI PIN Entry Device (PED) and Interac requirements. They are available factory-installed in new dispensers or as retrofit kits to upgrade existing dispensers with an integrated appearance. A modular design enables service on individual components instead of replacing the entire payment system. The systems help protect data with physical and logical security. Physical security features disable operation in the event of device tampering. Logical security features encrypt data at the point of card and PIN entry and throughout the system.

Retailers who attend the NACS Show, October 6-8 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta will be first to see public demonstrations of the new features. Gilbarco Veeder-Root is also offering free training at the show.

Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Root is a leading global supplier of integrated fuel control, site management and support services for petroleum marketers and commercial fueling enterprises. Products include dispensers, payment systems, tank gauges, submersible pumps, point of sale systems and remote monitoring of site functionality.
