Q360 Receives Wayne Nucleus POS Certification

Cents-off-per-gallon rewards technology available to Chevron retailers

ABILENE, Texas -- AutoGas Systems Inc. said that its Quantum360 (Q360) platform has achieved certification from Dresser Wayne for interoperability with the company's Wayne Nucleus v4 Point-of-Sale (POS) system. The added features now available to Chevron retailers include AutoGas's patented Fuel Rewards cents-off-per-gallon technology, which will increase the retailer's ability to successfully market gasoline at their site.

AutoGas's Q360 system is responsible for all Fuel Rewards that are issued and redeemed, as well as for secure data storage. Q360 [image-nocss] also allows Fuel Rewards to be redeemed across a chain of stores, while the Q360 service team provides data analysis, reporting and support.

The price of gas remains the single most watched economic story in the world. Consumers would rather receive a dollar of free gas than a straight dollar discount, because shoppers perceive more value in the gasoline than in the currency, said Mark Viertel, director of marketing for AutoGas Systems. Fuel Rewards puts this powerful consumer perception to work for grocers, manufacturers and fuel retailers to drive traffic and sales.

The integration of AutoGas's Q360 system with Wayne's Nucleus POS systems will allow Chevron retailers to reward loyal consumers with discounts on gasoline based on purchases of products inside their convenience stores. An example of this would be where a customer purchases a six-pack of soft drinks at full manufacturer's price and then is rewarded with 5 cents per gallon off the price of gasoline. Rewards can accumulate and can result in substantial savings for the consumer at the pump.

According to National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) data cited by AutoGas, 40% of consumers will switch gasoline retailers for a price difference of 3 cents per gallon. Fuel Rewards leverages this behavior pattern in combination with a loyalty program to encourage consumers to begin using their allied c-stores and remain faithful customers.
