Quality Oil Partners With ZipLine for Decoupled Debit Card

Transaction system allows customers to receive instant rollback at pump

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --Quality Oil Co. LLC, a diversified fuel, heating and convenience store retailer, has forged a technology partnership with ZipLine, a leading provider of mobile and card-based decoupled debit (ACH) payment solutions, that will leverage a low-cost payment method as a consumer marketing and loyalty tool.

As part of the agreement, Quality Oil will use the ZipLine platform as the merchant transaction system for the Quality Oil-branded Super Saver consumer card. Quality Oil customers will receive an instant rollback at the pump when using the card, which behaves like a standard bank issued PIN debit card--debiting from the consumer's bank account via ACH, but without costly discount or interchange fees to the merchant.

Merchant branded debit cards are a way for retailers to redeploy traditional and costly card acceptance costs back to consumers in the form of real-time rewards.

"In conjunction with ZipLine, Quality Oil has created a dynamic platform with the Quality Super Saver card to reward our customers," said Andy Sayles, senior vice president of Quality Oil. "ZipLine's technology provides an avenue for our Quality Mart and Quality Plus brands to deliver a personalized experience for our customers and to engage with them even when they are not physically at our property."

In addition to a financial transaction switch and ACH processing, the ZipLine platform offers a number of features such as a consumer enrollment portal, point-of-sale (POS) interface, billing system, merchant reporting, mobile payment (mPay), marketing, loyalty and customer support.

The Quality Oil partnership bolsters ZipLine's momentum as a leading decoupled debit and mobile technology provider in the convenience-store vertical. ZipLine serves more than 5,500 active sites, with more than 5,000 more under contract.

The ZipLine-enabled Quality Oil decoupled debit cards are available now to consumers. They can pick up cards at the participating Quality Mart and Quality Plus locations and enroll online at the Quality Oil website, www.QualitySuperSaver.com.

ZipLine, formerly the National Payment Card Association (NPCA), pioneered decoupled debit and developed and manages decoupled debit programs in the United States. The Coconut Creek, Fla.-based company's mission is to provide low-cost, merchant friendly, data-rich, secure payment solutions and services that deliver value to merchants and consumers.

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Quality Oil, in business since 1929, is a diverse, family-owned company. It operates multiple lines of business in six states. Quality Oil offers services in heating and air conditioner repair and installation, home heating oil and propane delivery, hotels, convenience stores and gas stations, gasoline/hazmat transportation and real estate.
