Radiant Debuts Biometric Solution With Pay By Touch

Offering includes loyalty programs, payment programs, age verification services

ATLANTA -- Radiant Systems Inc. and Pay By Touch will debut an integrated biometric payment solution at the NACSTech tradeshow in Nashville, Tenn., which begins today.

The synergy of Radiant's core petroleum and convenience retail application with Pay By Touch's consumer payment service will enable convenience stores to increase the speed of service with the touch of a finger, at the point of sale inside the store and outside at the fuel island, the companies said.

Pay By Touch allows shoppers to safely and securely pay for purchases [image-nocss] using a finger scan to access their electronic wallet. Once enrolled in the Pay By Touch service, consumers scan their finger and select a preferred payment method every time they pay. This end-to-end offering includes loyalty programs, payment programs and age verification services in one comprehensive system.

Consumer demands for convenience are increasing at an unprecedented pace, said Tim Finn, senior vice president of petroleum and convenience store sales for Pay By Touch. Our combined technology protects against identity theft, offers consumer convenience, and safeguards against false identification.

This joint solution offers the best of Radiant's POS application and Pay By Touch's biometric solution, which enhances the overall customer experience, lays the groundwork for a consumer biometric payment system, and enables merchants to offer a fast and secure way to pay for gasoline and other purchases, said the companies.

To date, the Pay By Touch consumer biometric payment solution is being deployed in Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. stores throughout South Carolina and Georgia, as well as in other major retailers throughout North America. Pay By Touch plans to launch in additional national retail chains later this year, it said.

Atlanta-based Radiant provides technology for the hospitality, petroleum and c-store and entertainment industries.

San Francisco-based Pay By Touch is a biometric payment service that is free to consumers and allows for fast and secure payment of purchases or cashing of checks using a finger scan linked to their PIN information, financial accounts and loyalty programs.
