Sheetz chooses ViryaNet to improve field service activities

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. has chosen ViryaNet Ltd.'s Service Hub for Retail to automate its field service operations, including the activities associated with workforce management, facilities maintenance and store equipment repair.

ViryaNet Service Hub for Retail is a complete field service management system for retail organizations. It manages customer interactions, schedules appropriate field resources, dispatches work orders via wireless technologies, returns updated data from the field to the external systems and gives technicians insight into inventory information.

As a workflow-based [image-nocss] product, it has the ability to manage business process exceptions, in addition to the routine processes that are experienced by most retail companies. Service Hub for Retail also provides visibility tools that continuously monitor operational activities, enabling management to make intelligent, real-time decisions.

"We intend to use Service Hub for Retail as the foundation for improving the availability of our products and services to our customers. We expect to increase our field productivity, reduce our maintenance costs and enhance our customer experience," said Mark Wilson, director of stores for Sheetz.

Other ViryaNet clients include Kroger, Publix and The Pantry.

Southborough, Mass.-based ViryaNet provides packaged industry solutions that guide, automate and optimize both simple and complex field service work. Solutions specialize in the functions of scheduling and dispatching resources and enabling mobile field communication.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz has 344 convenience store locations across six states—Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina—and more than 11,000 employees.
