Ricker Oil Scales Pinnacle's EPM Suite

Tool helps access, interpret and distribute store data

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Ricker Oil Co. has purchased The Pinnacle Corp.'s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system, a recently launched Web-based business intelligence software suite.

EPM is an analytical tool that retailers use to access, interpret and distribute store data both quickly and accurately from store level to corporate office. Anderson, Ind.-based Ricker's has also acquired PCTrain a Microsoft Windows interactive computer-based training program.

"We are very excited to find new ways to use the information [image-nocss] from our stores to make our business stronger and our ability to serve our customers even better," said Patti Safford, Ricker's manager of management information systems. "We find EPM to be a great way to enhance what we are already doing with Palm POS."

Modular and scalable, EPM offers retailers the option to add on solutions as their business grows. Once the initial POS data store module is in place, transaction information gets stored in a centralized database where it can be used by other systems. Since the data is available within minutes, it can be put into action before potential problems have a chance to escalate into full-blown emergencies. EPM tightly integrates with other data sources such as Pinnacle Price Book to link information about products to transaction data for an unlimited number of different views by product classification, company organization, vendor/supplier, or customer.

PCTrain computer-based training is an affordable and easy-to-use training system designed specifically for the convenience store and petroleum industry. PCTrain saves time and money while assuring legal compliance through standardized, documented training. Retailers use it to create and deliver one-on-one training at a significantly reduced cost without sacrificing results.

Ricker Oil Co. owns and operates more than 30 convenience stores, a bakery, laundromat and warehouse. Branded gasoline includes BP and Marathon.

Arlington, Texas-based The Pinnacle Corp. is an automation technology company focusing on the rapidly evolving convenience store and petroleum industries. Pinnacle delivers products that automate the broad spectrum of convenience store operations and supply chain management of fuel operations.
