Rutter's Mobile App Wins Customer Engagement Award

Retail TouchPoints honors retailer at NRF show

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's mobile app has been honored as the Best Mobile Application at the recent Customer Engagement Awards held during the National Retail Federation's recent annual convention, the Big Show, last week in New York City.

Ten different categories were awarded recognition at the Retail TouchPoints Customer Engagement Awards.

The Rutter's app is available on iPhone, Blackberry and Android (see Related Content below for previous CSP Daily News coverage). User features include visibility to Rutter's gasoline price listings by store and grade. Customers can register their loyalty cards using the app and continually manage their account from their smart phone. Digital coupons are sent to users' mobile phones, and the Rutter's game, a virtual slot machine called Spin and Win, offers gamers the chance to win free products in Rutter's stores.

"It is great to have our innovation being recognized as the best when one considers the size and breadth of the entire retail industry. For a 91-year-old company to be receiving such a technology recognition makes our team extremely proud since we try to so hard to keep pace with the ever-changing customer," said Scott Hartman, Rutter's CEO.

According to Debbie Hauss, the editor of Retail TouchPoints, "each of the 10 winners has taken the initiative to reach above the fray to bring a higher level of service to their current and prospective customers. The award winners are ahead of the curve and are achieving business success in this increasingly competitive and challenging marketplace."

The other winners of Customer Engagement Awards were 8ta, Casual Male Retail Group, David's Bridal, Foot Locker, Hot Topic, Inkjet Superstore, Moosejaw, Tasti D-Lite and Urban Outfitters.

Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.-based Retail TouchPoints is a customer engagement strategies and information company.
