ABILENE, Texas -- Acumera Inc., a provider of managed network services, has commenced deployment of complete network integration services for Skinny's Inc., a convenience store operator in North Central Texas.
Acumera's services integrate Skinny's existing systems onto a broadband network, reduce telephony and operating expenses and enable new IT system applications, said the Austin, Texas-based technology company.
We selected Acumera because of their ability to connect our existing systems such as credit card processing, PDI [image-nocss] reporting, tank gauge monitoring and check authorization to a broadband network at an affordable price, said Jodie McGaughey, Skinny's vice president. The modem and serial interfaces in the Acumera Merchant Gateway enable faster performance without a fork-lift systems upgrade.
Acumera also crafted VPN policies to work with Skinny's existing VPN concentrator for data security, and is supporting our plans for energy management system deployments, McGaughey said. Acumera's approach is actually reducing our operational costs. Acumera is a complete and cost-effective network solutions provider for Skinny's.
Acumera handles all aspects of network design, WAN provisioning, interface development for existing and future systems, as well as network monitoring and management. This turnkey approach reduces upgrade costs and telephony expenses, while streamlining existing data flows for increased operational efficiencies. Acumera uses two key products for Skinny's service delivery, the Acumera Merchant Gateway and AcuVigil Network Management. The Acumera Merchant Gateway combines five network functions into one device for ease of installation and reduced cost. AcuVigil Network Management reduces deployment and operating costs by providing Acumera and Skinny's a web-based view into network status to manage Skinny's VPN, WAN and network devices.
