Stop & Shop Fuel Centers Deploy Radiant Technology

Will enhance speed-of-service, loyalty for grocery chain's gas customers

QUINCY, Mass. -- The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ahold USA, said that Radiant Systems Inc. technology will be deployed to support fuel retailing at more than 60 Stop & Shop fuel centers.

The Radiant solution will include Radiant point-of-sale software, P1550 POS terminals, S4500 servers and the Tiger Fuel Controller. Additionally, the Radiant solution will include an interface to the supermarket pricebook using an industry-standard interface as well as an interface to the Stop & Shop loyalty program.

Grocers and other high-volume retailers are realizing that selecting the right technology is the key to implementing sophisticated loyalty at the fuel island while not negatively impacting speed of service, said Mark Schoen, president of Radiant's global petroleum and convenience retail division.

With systems built for speed and a proven track-record interfacing to above-store systems, Radiant was the right choice to enhance our customer loyalty programs at the gas pump, said Joe Sullivan, general manager of gasoline for Stop & Shop, Quincy, Mass. With the right technology in place, we will be able to provide our customers with meaningful rewards and a fast transaction.

Atlanta-based Radiant Systems provides technology to the hospitality and retail industries.
