PHILADELPHIA -- Stuzo, a digital-product-innovation company focused on the convenience-store and fuel-retail industry, has completed the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Level 1 compliance certification.
The PCI DSS is a benchmark set by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), a global forum founded by major credit-card companies, that aims to make security standards for account data protection more widespread.
To reach Level 1 compliance, Stuzo has completed a data-security assessment and produced a report on compliance indicating that its security capabilities are PCI DSS compliant.
“As security is an evergreen concern within merchants and their technology partner ecosystem, it was of the utmost importance for us to make this investment in Stuzo and our retail clients,” said Aaron McLean, COO of Stuzo.
“With security breaches and cybercrimes considered commonplace, cybersecurity and adhering to PCI Data Security Standards are critical to keeping consumers’ personally identifiable information safe and secure,” said John Shin, managing director of RSI Security, which performed the assessment. “By Stuzo achieving PCI DSS certification, Stuzo assures its retail clients that their data and that of their consumers is being handled with a high degree of security compliance.”
Philadelphia-based Stuzo says it helps businesses humanize technology by designing, defining and delivering digital products that drive strategic outcomes. Open Commerce, Stuzo’s core product, is an industry and device agnostic PCI DSS Level 1 certified platform, with digital payment, loyalty, food/product ordering and site-specific offer capabilities.
