Town Square of C-Store Resources'

CBC launches C Square, a business hub for retailers, suppliers
OAK BROOK, Ill. -- CBC Learning Center has launched C Square, a new website--located at www.mycsquare.com--which it describes as "the town square of c-store resources." It has positioned the site as the single business hub for convenience store retailers.

According to CBC--a leader at bringing together retailers and suppliers in the c-store industry--C Square is focused on enabling members to work smarter, more efficiently and more profitably by connecting them to: Online expertise-sharing business forums. Exclusive [image-nocss] money-saving offers from regional and national suppliers. Professionally produced videos spotlighting critical retail tips. Training materials from CBC Learning Center. Up-to-the-minute industry news.

For examples of the kind of profit-building ideas retailers can pick up at C Square and put into action immediately, it offers a video library of Retail Operating Tips. There, CBC Learning Center instructor and c-store owner Terry Lambert presents two-minute doses of real-world insight into a variety of helpful subjects.

These include:

Coffee Sales. Why is this important? "There's a reason coffee is a top-priority beverage," Lambert explains. "It's a high-demand item purchased by up to half your customers, with a gross margin of over 60%." Candy. "Wherever you display your candy, price it right. Your candy bars should be priced to make a 40-45% gross profit." Fountain Drinks. "Make sure your equipment is inviting to your customers by cleaning and sanitizing your nozzles every day." Cooler Sales."Put your cooler in the spotlight. Consider upgrading to LED lighting and making your cooler brighter than ever. You want customers to see the product clearly."

Other topics covered include seasonal products, advertising and front counter merchandising, with more videos added every few weeks. C Square members have the option to be notified by email when a new subject is added to the library.

There is no cost to join C Square, and more than 7,500 retail locations are already signed said Oak Brook, Ill.-based CBC.
