Verge Connect Powers GPM's New Smartphone Application

Fas Mart/Shore Stop convenience stores roll out Fas App

RICHMOND, Va. -- GPM Investments LLC's Fas Mart convenience store chain last week unveiled its new Fas App, the company's first smartphone application. Powered by Verge Connect, it debuted this month across more than 200 locations primarily in Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland and Delaware.

As reported in CSP Daily News, Fas App integrates with the retailer's new Fas Cashback secure payment card, which lets customers customize the types of food, beverage and grocery digital coupons they receive, and also offers five- to 20-cents-per-gallon instant savings every time at the pump.

Fas Mart/Shore Stop selected the Verge Connect platform not only for its features, but also as a means to forge a strategic partnership responsible for building the company's presence across the digital and mobile marketplace, the retailer said.

"Verge has enabled us to quickly and efficiently set in place the technology, tools and resources needed to augment offerings such as Fas Cashback, as well as other key initiatives in the pipeline," said Barry Khosropanah, Fas Mart's senior vice president of information technology.

"Fas App provides our customers with convenient ways to interact and realize savings in ways never before possible. As a result, we expect to further drive in-store traffic and sales, enhance customers' experience within our stores and deliver a value-added experience for our brand," added Bill Reilly, Fas Mart's senior vice president of marketing.

"We're thrilled to work with Fas Mart/Shore Stop in a capacity that leverages our 30-plus years of retail experience to deliver a first rate app experience for their customers, and also to align strategically to ensure their mobile and related programs are successful," said Carson Kuehne,  Verge Retail chief innovations officer.

Henderson, N.C.-based Verge is the technology spinoff of M.R. Williams Inc., a company with a 35-year history in retail and a leading East Coast c-store supplier. Verge software products are designed by c-store insiders with decades of retail experience.
