Western Refining Upgrades Communications

Implementing INX technology at HQ

EL PASO, Texas -- INX Inc. said that it has successfully completed the first phase of a comprehensive communications upgrade for Western Refining Inc. for its headquarters in El Paso, Texas. Western Refining expects to continue to roll out new voice and messaging technology as their business grows. The unified messaging platform will provide long-term scalability for future applications including video conferencing and presence messaging.

Western Refining recently acquired Giant Industries Inc., making Western Refining the 4th largest publicly traded [image-nocss] independent refiner and marketer in the United States, with a total crude oil throughput capacity of approximately 223,000 barrels per day (bpd).

We believe that we will gain efficiencies in operations while increasing functionality by implementing the latest in voice and messaging technology, said Blake Larsen, director of information technology for refining. As our business grows, we continue to look for standardization. Companies like INX and Cisco help us to meet those objectives.
