This privately owned and family-minded chain was founded by Jim and FaEllen Yates in 1970. The company began with one store and now operates 300 in four states. The company proudly remains family owned and operated with daughters Sonja Yates Hubbard serving as the CEO and Stacy Yates serving as the chief financial officer. Sonja’s husband, Bob Hubbard is the company’s president and chief operating officer and FaEllen is chairman of the board.
They don’t consider themselves to be the only family in the business, though. E-Z Mart employs more than 2,100 people, many long tenured and passionate about the company, and all are considered part of the E-Z Mart Family.
