2015 was a busy year for the company as parent company Global Partners closed on its acquisition of Xtra Mart in February, after purchasing the stores from a subsidiary of Warren Equities.

Xtra Mart’s offers a network of varying store sizes, but the average measures 2,500 square feet and most sites field a minimum of eight gas pumps, and some as many as 14.

On the food front, Xtra Mart offers the proprietary Deli Joe’s offering, which depending on store size may be limited to only an open-air cooler while others have full-blown delis with made-to-order sandwiches. The program includes pizza, hot dogs, made-to-order sandwiches and other items. Also, Xtra Mart has co-branded some locations with Dunkin' Donuts, Subway and Honey Dew Donuts. Xtra Mart's proprietary Xtra Café Coffee program has helped in-store profitability at a time cigarette sales have being hit hard by a combination of price increases, tough competition and a nationwide decline in volume.

Like Xtra Mart, the company’s Alltown-branded stores, a concept launched in 2013 with a propetiary foodservice concept called Alltown Café, are managed from Global Partners’ headquarters outside of Boston. Alltown has been active on the charitable front, raising significant funds for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
