MotoMart is a family-owned company with 78 convenience stores in six states: Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The Belleville, Ill.-based chain seeks to expand through acquisitions and new builds. It added five locations in 2015. It is focused on expansion in existing markets, but executives say the company could grow in new markets with the right opportunity.
Moto Mart is nearing the completion of its green technologies initiative. Fuel canopies and new buildings feature high-insulating, LEED-certified translucent panels to provide diffused light without shadows, glares or hotspots. Almost all stores contain efficient ceiling fixtures with parabolic lenses, electronic ballasts and T8 lamps. The stores also have high-tech fuel tank gauges with independent computers that continuously analyze tanks for potential leaks.
Moto Mart was awarded CSP’s Environmental Stewardship Award by Innovative Facilities Solutions and has been awarded the St. Charles Employer of the Year Award for Energy Efficiency.
