Stop In Food Stores are owned and operated by Petroleum Marketers Inc. (PMI) of Roanoke, Va., with outlets in Virginia and West Virginia. Fuel brands offered at locations with gasoline are CITGO, BP, Exxon and Shell. PMI was formed in 1950 and is an employee-owned group of companies that offers branded and unbranded gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, home heating oil bulk lubricants and motor oils, in addition to the c-store operations.

The company prides itself on offering clean stores inside and out and even paints its curbs. It looks to carry items that will attract everyone. Seven locations offer a quick-serve restaurant on site. The chain accepts electronic benefit transfers or EBTs as payment for merchandise. Requirements for accepting the government assistance credits included adding 2% milk, canned meat, vegetables, beans, cheese and meats to its merchandise.
