Quality Oil’s slogan is “Quality, our way of life.” Quality Mart stores market themselves as “the fastest pumps in town.” Most are open late for customer convenience, some 24 hours a day.
The chain launched a loyalty program for its independent branded locations. One part of the program is a “cash card” called a Value Card, which discounts prices at the pump. A second part of the program to enable ACH payments began in early 2015 via a partnership with ZipLine.
The company has the Shell Fuel Rewards program (with Kroger and Bi Lo) in the Raleigh and Charlotte markets, and is 100% Fuel Rewards at all of its Shell locations. It offers “Facebook Freebies” for its Quality Mart stores.
Quality Oil also owns and franchises 57 Quality Plus stores, which sell gas and cigarettes only. The Quality Plus store managers live on site in furnished apartments attached to the store properties. The stores feature drive-thru windows and special cigarette pricing.
In summer 2015, Quality Oil acquired the assets of GOGAS of Wilmington, N.C., including the brand. The GOGAS portfolio consists of 20 large, well-maintained fueling facilities with modern equipment and total annual fuel volumes of more than 53 million gallons. Each site features a kiosk-style building for accepting fuel payments and selling top-tier cigarettes.
