Based in Calgary, Alberta, Shell Canada Ltd. has 500 stores, all of which are corporate-owned, making it one of the largest integrated petroleum companies in Canada. All sell fuel, and 160 locations have a car wash. Fuel brands are Shell, Payless and Beaver. In addition, the company distributes fuel to nearly 700 dealer sites.
With many of the corporate stores located in rural areas, the stores stock a variety of household goods and necessities. Shell Canada is a subsidiary of Holland-based Royal Dutch Shell. Shell Canada’s convenience stores are known by the brand name Select. Unusual or unique products at the stores include reindeer and moose jerky.
