Spartan Stores Inc. (Quick Stop)

When you enter a Quick Stop location you’ll quickly notice a robust tobacco offering.

Spartan Stores (dba Quick Stop) feature a large selection of tobacco, from single cigars merchandised in open-top plastic contains with prominent display of each brand, to individual packs of cigars. And for the roll-your-own and pipe aficionados, there are bags of tobacco hung from hooks directly beneath cigar-stocked shelves.

In July 13, Spartan, one of the state’s largest grocery distributors, entered into an all-stock merger agreement with Nash Finch Co., with the new name SpartanNash Co. going into effect May this year.

The combination creates a leader in the grocery wholesale, retail and military commissary and exchange channels with pro forma annual sales of approximately $7.5 billion. Together, Spartan Stores and Nash Finch will have 22 distribution centers covering 37 states, 177 retail stores and will be the leading distributor to military commissaries and exchanges in the U.S.

As for the convenience offering, Quick Stop is known for its fuel rewards program, clean, quality stores and its special 99-cent coffee and any-size fountain drinks beverage offering.
