About CSP's Convenience Top 101
CSP’s third-annual Convenience Top 101 list ranks the largest convenience-store chains by store count—owned/operated and franchised locations—in the United States and Canada, providing easy access to data, images and news on the leading chains. We've also tapped CSPedia, the c-store industry’s online business intelligence database, to recognize some of the industry’s most fascinating leaders in current retail trends. The real story, of course, are the record profits, low gas prices and, most important for the purpose of ranking chains by store count, convenience multiples made running c-stores—and apparently selling or buying them—all the rage. An improving economy, more cash in consumers’ pockets and tax advantages propelling master limited partnerships (MLPs) shook up much of the middle and lower half of this year’s list of Top 101 convenience chains.
