ANKENY, Iowa --Casey’s General Stores Inc. has purchased and acquired five convenience stores of Francois Oil, Belleville, Wis.
Casey’s said it expects to rebrand these convenience stores, formerly known as The Station, to Casey’s. They will undergo improvements in the coming months following the final closing of the transaction.
Ed Francois, president of Francois Oil, is leaving the convenience-store industry to spend more time with his Ford automobile dealership. Francois Oil is selling four other locations to a private individual in two weeks, and Francois will continue to operate the remaining four for now.
Terry Monroe of American Business Brokers & Advisors, Effingham, Ill., and Bill Fecht of W.J.F. Services Inc., Normal, Ill., provided merger & acquisition advisory services to Francois Oil.
Francois Oil operates 13 convenience stores and is a wholesale distributor of fuels in the Belleville and Madison, Wis., area.
Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s operates more than 1,950 stores in 14 Midwestern states, primarily Iowa, Missouri and Illinois.
