Pilot Flying J Spreads Its Wings

Opens seven new locations in first-quarter 2016

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --Pilot Flying J is expanding the truckstop and travel center company’s footprint to offer guests and professional drivers enhanced food options, fuel and conveniences. Since January 2016, Pilot Flying J opened seven new locations throughout the Midwest, South and West in the United States, as well as in Canada.

This year “is slated to be an incredibly important year for Pilot Flying J,” said Ken Parent, Pilot Flying J president. “The new locations we’ve opened during the first quarter of 2016 demonstrate our commitment to connecting people and places with comfort, care and a smile at every stop.”

New locations opened or opening in January through March 2016 include:

  1. Balgonie, Saskatchewan. Features eight Shell-branded gasoline fueling positions and eight diesel lanes.
  2. Carol Stream, Ill. Features Moe’s Southwest Grill and Cinnabon, as well as 16 gasoline fueling positions and six diesel lanes.
  3. Lebanon, Ohio. Features Wendy’s and Cinnabon, as well as 12 gasoline fueling positions and eight diesel lanes.
  4. Marion, N.C. Features 10 gasoline fueling positions and seven diesel lanes
  5. Orland, Calif. Features Wendy’s, Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s, as well as 12 gasoline fueling positions and nine diesel lanes.
  6. Schulenberg, Texas. Features Taco Bell, Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, as well as 20 fueling positions and eight diesel lanes.
  7. Whitecourt, Alberta. – Features eight fueling positions and five diesel lanes.

In addition to the new store openings, Goodyear recently opened Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers at Pilot Flying J locations in Eloy, Ariz., South Beloit, Ill., and Walcott, Iowa.

Each new location features full amenities for area residents as well as travelers and professional drivers, including:

  • Multiple fueling positions and diesel lanes with high-speed pumps for quicker refueling.
  • PJ Fresh fast, casual food offerings, including roasted chicken, meatloaf, pizza, soup, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs.
  • Premium coffee and cappuccino.
  • Everyday products for quick shopping needs.
  • Showers and driver lounges in many locations.

The combined network of more than 650 Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers across North America serves more than 1.3 million customers daily.

With headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn., Pilot Flying J has more than 650 retail locations. The Pilot Flying J network provides drivers with access to more than 65,000 parking spaces for trucks, 4,400 showers and more than 4,000 diesel lanes offering diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump.
