Yesway Acquires 6 Stores in 2 States

Chain enhancing presence in Texas, Missouri

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Yesway has acquired five Rip Griffin Travel Centers in Texas and one State Line Convenience store in Missouri.

The Rip Griffin stores are located in Brownfield, Idalou, Lubbock (2) and Wolfforth, Texas; State Line Convenience is located in Joplin, Mo.

These new Yesway stores will further enhance the company’s presence in the Texas and Missouri markets, and are the latest to be added to the company’s existing portfolio of 80 locations currently operating in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

“With Yesway, our customers will enjoy great customer service at stores that are true to our brand promise—they’ll be efficient, inviting and friendly,” said Brian Trout, Yesway’s senior vice president of operations. “We are eager to continue to serve, get to know and be part of their communities.”

Lubbock, Texas-based Rip Griffin Cos. includes nine Rip Griffin Travel Centers that serve retail customers, terminal operations for wholesale commercial fuel storage and sales, wholesale oil and lube products and bulk fuel transportation services.

State Line Convenience Inc. is based in Joplin, Mo. The Phillips 66-branded location offers a deli, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Krispy Kreme Donuts, a beer cave and a selection of wine and liquor.

Yesway said it plans to acquire, improve and rebrand an additional 120 to 130 stores per year over the next several years in order to reach its goal of building a 500-location chain of Yesway convenience stores in select regions of the United States.

“We are very proud of our progress and continued expansion, which we expect will continue at an accelerated pace over the next few months,” said Thomas Nicholas Trkla, chairman and CEO of Yesway. “As we continue to grow our portfolio, our exceptional management team is focused on delivering terrific customer service to everyone who visits any our stores.”
