Top Banana

Kwik Trip peels away from the pack in CSP-Service Intelligence Mystery Shop.

The story about a man in a gorilla suit stealing a larger-than-life, Styrofoam display banana from a Kwik Trip store is one that executives may tell a visiting reporter. But the stories that they tell over and over to staff members in training are of the selfless actions of their employees: those who  help stranded motorists, raise money for families in need and offer respite for travelers desperately searching for a clean washroom.

Best known for fresh bananas, community-minded employees and sparkling restrooms, the La Crosse, Wis.-based chain has used its Golden Rule mindset to claim its first victory in the fifth annual CSP-Service Intelligence Mystery Shop, ranking best overall in a field of nine competing operators.
