IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven has a new private-label bottled water.

Skyra Icelandic spring water was created exclusively for 7-Eleven, the Irving, Texas-based convenience-store chain said. The water is naturally alkaline with electrolytes, a high pH (8.8) and naturally low mineral content. It is available in 20-ounce bottles for $1.99 and 1-liter bottles for $2.69.

Skyra is an Icelandic word meaning “clear” or “to clarify,” according to 7-Eleven. The water comes from an Icelandic spring in a government-protected nature preserve.

7-Eleven has about 1,500 private-brand items and expects its sales of these items to top $1 billion this year, the company said. 7-Eleven introduced a new private-label merchandise brand, 24/7 Life, in December. The chain also sells packaged food and beverages under its 7-Select label.

7-Eleven, with more than 9,300 c-stores in the United States, is No. 1 on the Top 40 update to CSP’s 2019 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by number of retail outlets. CSP will release the complete 2020 list in June.
