NIAGARA FALL, N.Y. -- Rock star Gene Simmons has launched a premium soda line, and 7-Eleven Inc. will get an exclusive first taste of one of the five flavors launching this month. The line, called MoneyBag Sodas, is made in cooperation with Rock Steady Sodas Inc.
The new sodas are made with all-natural flavors, colors and sweeteners and are packaged in eco-friendly glass bottles adorned with detailed painted labels, according to the company.
“The incredible flavor profiles they created and collectible packaging will be a crowd-pleaser," said Simmons, an entrepreneur and bass player and co-founder of the rock band Kiss. "I am very proud of MoneyBag Sodas and excited about my foray into the soda business.”
The MoneyBag Sodas line initially includes a cola, diet cola, root beer and ginger ale. Additional flavors are in the works, along with a line of premium fountain sodas.
While several retail chains, including Wegmans, Tops Friendly Markets, and Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop, will carry the new sodas, convenience-store chain 7-Eleven will have exclusive rights to MoneyBag Cream Soda at launch, according to a Rock Steady Sodas' press release.
MoneyBag Sodas are bundled in four-packs with custom crowns, setting the product apart from similar items in the category.
Rock Steady Sodas is a subsidiary of Johnnie Ryan Bottling Co., Niagara Falls, N.Y.
