STRATFORD, Conn. — Athletic Brewing Co. is launching Athletic Lite, a light, nonalcohol beer with 25 calories and 5 carbs.

Athletic Lite is brewed with organic grains and gives drinkers a crisp, dry finish, according to the company, which surpassed 100,000 barrels in 2021, four years after its start.

“Athletic Lite was months in development, and definitely presented one of our biggest brewing challenges to date,” said John Walker, co-founder and head brewer. “It turns out after many test batches we were able to perfect a recipe that we are very proud of—a crushable, refreshing and great-tasting everyday brew for any occasion. I’m looking forward to getting feedback from our community of drinkers.”

Athletic Lite launched March 7 in stores nationwide.

Athletic Brewing Co., Stratford, Conn., is re-imagining beer for the modern, active adult. The company’s drinks provide a refreshing taste of craft beer without the alcohol or hangover, Athletic Brewing said. Other nonalcohol brews include Run Wild IPA, Upside Dawn golden and Free Wave hazy IPA.
