NEW YORK and CHICAGO — Breakthru Beverage Group has agreed to acquire and integrate J.J. Taylor Cos.’ Minnesota beer business into Breakthru Beverage.
The move will enhance Breakthru’s beer portfolio and strengthen the company’s Midwest position as it expands service capabilities to customers and supplier partners, Breakthru said.
The deal, expected to close this spring, also will bring enhanced operational capabilities to Twin Cities beer distribution as Breakthru consolidates its beer portfolio into J.J. Taylor’s 600,000-square-foot warehouse in Minnesapolis. The company will have a portfolio of more than 65 domestic, imported and local and national craft beer brands. Some of its brand partners include Molson Coors Beverage Co., Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Brown-Forman, Cutwater Spirits and more, according to its website.

Breakthru intends to relay on the expertise of the J.J. Taylor team with the goal of expanding its associate sales force to become the best and easiest distributor to work with in the state, the company said.
