Eric Hanson is the new chief operating officer and president of Boca Raton, Florida-based energy drink maker Celsius Holdings Inc., effective March 24.
The chief operating officer role is a newly created position at Celsius.
Hanson will report to John Fieldly, who will retain his role as Celsius chairman and CEO. The company said the addition supports Celsius’ “pursuit of category leadership in functional beverages, where there continues to be significant growth opportunities.”
Hanson will lead key growth-driving functions at Celsius and will apply his nearly three decades of experience in the food and beverage industry “to unlock additional synergies with the company’s strategic partners,” Celsius said of Hanson, adding that he brings experience leading sales, commercial planning and partnership management.
Hanson most recently was senior vice president of strategic partnerships at Purchase, New York-based PepsiCo, where he managed a portfolio of brands representing more than $3 billion in annual revenue.
