WESTWOOD, Mass. -- As reported in CSP Daily News last week, major coffee roaster Van Houtte Inc. has been selected by Chevron Corp. as an alliance partner for their ExtraMile convenience store pilot program in the Seattle market.
Details that have now emerged include that the program involves the rebranding of existing Chevron c-store locations, combined with the addition of four branded in-store stations: Coffee, HydraZone (water & energy drinks), Better Choices (healthy & alternative snacks) and Food-to-Go.
In May, approximately 45 [image-nocss] locations began to feature Van Houtte-branded stations offering a variety of coffees and assorted hot beverages, along with accessories such as cups, stirrers and napkins.
The partnership announcement follows an extensive selection process by Chevron in order to offer improved product within the ExtraMile concept.
Chevron based its decision on, among other factors, the success of Chevron Canada's existing Van Houtte coffee program at participating Town Pantry locations, the companies said.
Van Houtte markets its coffees across Canada and the United States through distribution channels that include coffee services, retail stores, cafes, online shopping and foodservice networks.
