Froster Friday Phone Promotion

Mac's helps raise funds for youth resource

CALGARY, Alberta -- Mac's Convenience Stores Inc., a subsidiary of Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., has launched Froster Fridays in support of Kids Help Phone.

Mac's hopes to raise more than $10,000 for Kids Help Phone by donating 25 cents from every Froster frozen beverage sold in Mac's stores throughout Western Canada this Friday, including Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Fort McMurray, Vancouver, Kelowna and Victoria.

It is only [image-nocss] with the support of companies like Mac's Convenience Stores that Kids Help Phone can continue to be there when kids across the country reach out for help, said Sheryl Hayes, regional director for the charity.

We are pleased to support such a critical service for Canadian youth and families and hope our Froster Friday promotion raises awareness and funds for this essential help line, said Ron Thompson, Mac's marketing manager.

Kids Help Phone relies almost entirely on the support of individual and corporate donors to continue to provide its services to kids across Canada. It is Canada's only toll-free, 24-hour, bilingual and anonymous phone and web counseling, referral and information service for children and youth. Every day, professional counselors provide immediate, caring support to young people in urban and rural communities. Children and teens contact Kids Help Phone about issues including physical, sexual and emotional abuse, drugs and suicide. In 2005, Kids Help Phone helped kids in need from almost 3,000 Canadian communities more than one million times though its phone and online services.
