STAMFORD, Conn. — Nestle Waters North America has a new name.

The bottled water company, which Vevey, Switzerland-based Nestle S.A. sold to One Rock Capital Partners LLC in partnership with Metropoulos & Co., is now BlueTriton Brands.

The company is named after blue, to represent water, and Triton, a god of the sea in classical Greek mythology. It reflects BlueTriton Brands’ role as a guardian of sustainable resources and a provider of fresh water, according to the company.

BlueTriton said it will make branding changes including its corporate logo, website and social channels in coming months.

Dean Metropoulos, an industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience operating and investing in food and beverage brands, has been appointed chairman and interim CEO of BlueTriton Brands. He said the company will commit to being at the forefront of sustainable water management, advancing recycling and waste reduction and partnering with local communities.

“We have all become increasingly aware of how critical our products and their rapidly evolving innovations are to human wellness and our communities,” Metropoulos said. “Our unique U.S. and Canadian platforms provide us opportunities to touch every consumer, in all facets of their lives, and we look forward to strengthening our bonds with consumers and communities by leading with innovation and relevance.”

BlueTriton, Stamford, Conn., consists of the former U.S. and Canadian operations of Nestle Waters North America. Its brands include Poland Spring, Deer Park, Ozarka, Ice Mountain, Zephyrhills, Arrowhead, Pure Life and Splash. It has 27 production facilities across North America, 16 of which are Alliance for Water Stewardship certified with five having the highest level of certification. Nestle S.A. still owns its international premium water brands, including Perrier, S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
