7-Eleven’s package redesign on its 7-Select Replenish line of hydration beverages focuses on plastic waste reduction and transportation efficiency, the Irving, Texas-based convenience-store chain said.
“With the rollout of the new bottle design at 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide, 7-Eleven continues to prioritize sustainability while maintaining the quality and taste that customers know and love,” the company said.
The first new flavor in the redesigned bottle is the limited-time Caramel Apple. 7-Eleven launched 7-Select Replenish in 2019.
7-Eleven is No. 1 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count.
“This fall, we are inviting customers to embrace the changing seasons with the indulgent delight of Caramel Apple,” said Nikki Boyers, vice president of private brands and emerging brands at 7-Eleven, which just rolled out new limited-time foodservice deals. “With its exciting blend of flavors, Caramel Apple embodies the spirit of autumn.”
7-Eleven said the redesigned bottles offer a host of benefits, including using less plastic both in the bottle itself and in the wrapping, resulting in an estimated annual plastic waste reduction of 104 metric tons. In addition, by optimizing the packaging, 7-Eleven can now fit more cases per pallet, which will reduce the number of trucks required to keep stores supplied by nearly 25%.
“This redesign marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to innovate and operate sustainably,” said Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president and chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven. “Not only does it allow us to reduce our plastic usage and streamline our logistics, but it also reflects our dedication to providing customers with products that align with their values.”
7-Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses more than 83,000 convenience stores in 19 countries and regions, including more than 13,000 7-Eleven convenience stores in the United States.
