Optimum Nutrition’s Sparkling Hydration Drink Available at Speedway

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Optimum Nutrition’s Essential AminO Energy Plus Electrolytes sparkling hydration drink is available in Speedway convenience stores chainwide.

AminO Energy Plus Electrolytes is a lightly carbonated beverage that has 100 milligrams of caffeine derived from natural sources like green tea and green coffee bean extract, according to the Downers Grove, Ill.-based company. It is made with 5 grams of amino acids and electrolytes to support energy, focus, performance and endurance, it said.

Each 12-ounce can is 5 calories and has no sugars or artificial colors. Blueberry Lemonade and Grape flavors will be sold at Speedway. Other Optimum Nutrition offerings at the Enon, Ohio-based c-store chain include better-for-you snacks such as Cake Bites, Protein Crisp and Protein Almonds.

Optimum Nutrition, owned by Glanbia Performance Nutrition, started in 1986 to provide sports nutrition products. The company also manufactures nutrition bars, protein powders, ready-to-drink shakes and multivitamins.
