Nice N Easy names best of both for 2005

CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes honored its 2005 new product of the year and trade partner of the year during an awards banquet Thursday, March 16.

During the annual event, the Canastota, N.Y.-based convenience store retailer honored Monster Energy Drinks as product of the year and The Coca-Cola Co. as trade partner of the year.

Nice N Easy chose Monster Energy for the new product honor after the company saw monthly sales volume of the energy drinks grow from less than $5,000 in April 2005 to more than $25,000 in [image-nocss] December. This brand escaped the khaos' of the category and launches an all out assault,' which resulted in a monster' year for the brands, said the company, referencing the varieties of the Monster drinks.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola products generated more than $1 million in gross margin dollars for the chain in 2005, showing a volume increase of 24.3% over 2004 sales. Coca-Cola is also a major sponsor of Nice N Easy's annual trade show, company picnic and annual golf outing. The beverage manufacturer also was a platinum sponsor of the chain's 25th anniversary in 2005.
