Pester Acquires 17 Stores

1st Stop retains right to sell Farm Crest Dairy brand

DENVER -- Pester Marketing Co., owner of the 1st Stop brand of gas/convenience stores in Colorado, has acquired 17 Farm Crest Dairy c-stores along the Front Range previously owned by Royal Crest Dairy, bringing the total number of Colorado c-stores owned by the company to 41.

As part of the deal, Pester Marketing will convert all 17 Farm Crest Dairy stores to the 1st Stop brand while retaining the rights to the Farm Crest name and the right to sell Farm Crest all-natural milk in a reusable/returnable environmentally friendly milk bottle on a long-term [image-nocss] basis.

This is a great move for Pester, and an even greater move for those who love the Farm Crest line of dairy products, said Rich Spresser, executive vice president of Denver-based Pester Marketing. Even though the name is changing, we'll still have that great Farm Crest milk and other related products that many people have grown to love. Plus, we will be upgrading all of the stores to enhance the overall experience for our customers.

Pester Marketing currently is engaged in converting all 17 stores across the Front Range. As part of the conversion, the newly enhanced 1st Stop/Farm Crest stores will carry Phillips 66 motor fuels.

1st Stop stores sell a variety of groceries, snacks, beverages, tobacco products, Colorado Lottery products and other convenience items.

Pester Marketing is a closely held corporation and terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.

Founded in the mid-1950s in Iowa, Pester Marketing has owned and operated stations and stores in Colorado under the FINA, Pester and Coastal brands since 1975. In addition to the retail side of the business, the company is a wholesale supplier of branded and unbranded petroleum products and is currently supplied its Phillips 66 branded and unbranded products by Suncor USA. In March 2006, Pester acquired a 50% interest in Alta Fuels LLC in Alamosa, Colo., a terminal company blending ethanol and biodiesel products with sales to numerous wholesale and retail customers in Colorado and New Mexico.
