Convenience-store retailer QuikTrip has teamed with Marshall Brewing, Tulsa, Oklahoma, to bring the retailer’s Quittin’ Time beer back on its shelves.

The premium beer pays homage to a 1977 interaction between co-founder and CEO Chester Cadieux and the retailer’s then vice president of marketing, Wyatt Phillips. Phillips was finishing a long workday in 1977 when Cadieux walked by his office and waved and Wyatt said, “It’s quittin’ time.”

“Now, almost four decades removed from its first run, Quittin’ Time Premium Beer is back on QuikTrip shelves at Tulsa area locations,” QuikTrip said in a statement.

The beer is now available in 6-pack 12-ounce cans as well as 19.2-ounce singles at Tulsa area locations. The retailer said in the coming weeks, the beer will be available in Wichita locations with additional markets under consideration.

“QuikTrip constantly evaluates our product offerings to best meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said QuikTrip Corporate Communications Manager Aisha Jefferson. “As the craft beer market continues to evolve, we are excited to bring back the nostalgia of Quittin’ Time through a locally brewed, premium beer that matches the desires of today’s consumers.”

The beer is crafted with high-quality malted barley and hops and is light, crisp and refreshing, the retailer said.

“We’re thrilled to partner with QuikTrip to bring Quittin’ Time Premium Beer to hardworking Oklahomans,” said Marshall Brewing Founder and Brewmaster Wes Marshall. “This collaboration celebrates the perfect moment at the end of the day when you can unwind and enjoy a quality, locally crafted beer. Quittin’ Time is brewed with pride in Tulsa and designed to be the ideal companion for your well-earned break.”
