Vanilla Coke Returns With Vanilla Coke Zero Launch

Beverage maker opens World of Coca-Cola

ATLANTA -- After a year-and-half hiatus, Coca-Cola North America has brought Vanilla Coke back, hitting shelves across the United States this week.

While the official brand re-launch includes a contemporary new logo and packaging graphics, the mix of vanilla and Coca-Cola remains unchanged.

Along with the return of Vanilla Coke, Vanilla Coke Zero makes its official debut, offering the taste of authentic Vanilla Coke, but with zero calories.

Tied into a summer promotion and kicking off the Memorial Day [image-nocss] weekend, Coca-Cola created the World's Largest Vanilla Coke Float at the new World of Coca-Cola attraction in Atlanta. A 15-foot-tall contour glassfilled with 2,850 gallons of Vanilla Coke and 7,200 scoops of Dreyer's/Edy's Grand Vanilla Ice Creamtipped the scales at 10 tons and set an official Guinness World Record in the Largest Ice Cream Float category, the company said.

The event helped launch a summer-long promotion with Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Inc./Edy's Grand Ice Cream encouraging consumers to create Vanilla Coke or Vanilla Coke Zero floats using Dreyer's/Edy's Slow-Churned Light Ice Cream or No Sugar Added Light Ice Cream varieties.

Vanilla Coke and Vanilla Coke Zero will be available in a variety of packages, including 12-oz. cans, 20-oz. bottles, 1.5- and 2-liter bottles at supermarkets, convenience stores and mass retail locations.

Last Week, The Coca-Cola Co. celebrated the official grand opening of the new World of Coca-Cola in its home base of Atlanta.

The attraction includes more than 1,000 artifacts that have never been seen by the public. The building was constructed in accordance with the United States Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards. It is one of few environmentally sustainable buildings in Georgia.

It features three theaters (one in 4D), a real bottling line, a popular culture exhibit showcasing artwork by Andy Warhol and a contemporary tasting lounge where guests can sample 70 Coca-Cola products from around the globeincluding sparkling beverages, waters, juices, teas and sports drinks.

The World of Coca-Cola is located at Pemberton Place, next door to the Georgia Aquarium, which opened in November 2005 on land donated by Coca-Cola. The company also donated 2.5 acres to the Atlanta for a Civil & Human Rights Center to be located on the same site.
