CHICAGO -- At the midyear point, beer sales growth is generally flat in the convenience-store industry.
Dollar sales in c-stores for the category were up 1.2% during the 52 weeks ending May 20, 2018, while case-sales growth dipped 0.9%, according to data from Chicago-based IRI. That's about the same as 2017 year-end sales reported in CSP's 2018 Category Management Handbook.
Of the top 10 largest beer brands sold in c-stores, six saw sales decline during the past year, while two brands have seen double-digit growth.
