Coffee-Mate Launches RTD Cold Brew

New drinks capitalize on Natural Bliss line of creamers

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Coffee-mate, maker of coffee creamers since 1961, is diving into the ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee business with the national launch of Coffee-mate Natural Bliss Cold Brew Coffee.

Coffee-mate Natural Bliss Cold Brew is made with all-natural, high-quality and fully recognizable ingredients, according to the company, and is available in Sweet Cream and Mocha flavored varieties. The company test-marketed the packaged beverages in 2017.

"Cold-brew consumption has risen 80 percent in the last year, and we saw a great opportunity to expand our product portfolio into the ready-to-drink space to further meet consumer demands and lifestyles," said Avantika Chakravorty, Coffee-mate's manager of marketing for ready-to-drink coffee. "We first introduced our cold-brew coffee to the West Coast last year to great success and are looking forward to sharing it with consumers nationwide."

The Natural Bliss drinks trade on the Natural Bliss all-natural line of coffee creamers Coffee-mate introduced in 2011.

Coffee-mate Natural Bliss Cold Brew Coffee is crafted using an intensive brewing process, including 100% Arabica beans that are slowly steeped in cool water for 12 hours to create a smooth, not bitter, taste, the company said. Other ingredients include nonfat milk, cane sugar, heavy cream, natural flavor and baking soda (to prevent settling). The Mocha flavored offering also contains sea salt and cocoa. The ingredients are all-natural, non-GMO, kosher and gluten-free.

Coffee-mate is a Nestle USA brand. Arlington, Va.-based Nestle USA is part of Nestle S.A. in Vevey, Switzerland.
