Dr Pepper, 7-Eleven Join Forces for Thor

Offering limited-edition collectible cups, chance to win super hero prizes
PLANO, Texas -- Dr Pepper and 7-Eleven stores have teamed up to celebrate the release of Marvel Studios' feature film Thor. Consumers can win prizes and get a free one-month online subscription to Marvel Digital Comics with the purchase of any of the 23 flavors of Dr Pepper in a collectible 7-Eleven Super Big Gulp cup.

"Dr Pepper is thrilled to partner with 7-Eleven and Marvel Entertainment to give our fans the chance to become part of the Thor adventure," said Dave Fleming, director of marketing for Dr Pepper.

In addition to 10 collectible cups [image-nocss] for Slurpee and Big Gulp beverages, customers will discover a new, limited-edition Slurpee flavor--Blue Lightning Blast--as well as limited-edition spoon-straws, featuring key characters from the film. Text 711 to PEPPER (737737) by May 10 for a chance to win one of three prizes from Dr Pepper and 7-Eleven.

Dr Pepper fans can also win "the ultimate Super Hero powers of flight, speed and strength" by locating one of the limited-edition Dr Pepper Hammer cans or two-liter bottle caps. With the power of flight, they can take a ride in an authentic fighter jet. With the power of speed, they can shatter the 200-mph barrier during a ride in a supercar. With the power of strength, they can receive personal training sessions that can supercharge their bodies.

Every code found on collectible Dr Pepper Hammer cans and two-liter bottle caps is a winner. Nonwinning caps/cans will not have a code. Codes found on 20-oz. Dr Pepper Hammer bottles can be redeemed for a free one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics. While only a few fans will win the ultimate Super Hero experience, fans also have the chance to win additional prizes, such as 3-D TVs, airline gift cards, premium movie tickets or a year's supply of Dr Pepper. Codes must be redeemed by July 31.

Paramount Pictures will release Thor nationwide on May 6, 2011.
