Emergen-C Goes Fountain

ampm to stock Alacer's Emergen-C Splash

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. -- Alacer Corp., maker of Emergen-C vitamin drink mix, has announced a new fountain beverage for the Emergen-C brand. The new Emergen-C Splash is available this month. Emergen-C Splash will initially be available at more than 1,000 ampm stores, according to Alacer.

"We often hear from our consumers that they enjoy Emergen-C as a healthy alternative to soda," said Ron Fugate, president and CEO of Alacer Corp. "Introducing this new product was a natural fit for the brand since there aren't many nutritious options among fountain drinks. It's exciting [image-nocss] to offer a truly healthy and refreshing alternative at the beverage fountain."

New Emergen-C Splash is a fruit-flavored fountain drink available in Orange-Tangerine and Cranberry-Pomegranate flavors, with more flavors to come. Each 16-fluid-oz. serving of Emergen-C Splash is infused with Emergen-C nutrients including 170% of the daily value for vitamin C, along with B vitamins, antioxidants and electrolytes. The Emergen-C Splash formula is distinct from the familiar Emergen-C flavored vitamin drink mix with its own sweetener profile and 25% of the daily value for vitamin D. Emergen-C Splash is low in calories, with 30 calories per 16-fluid-oz. serving.

The noncarbonated, caffeine-free beverage is available self-serve through fountain machines or branded standalone dispensing equipment, providing flexible options to meet retailers' needs.

Alacer and Intellibev, its exclusive licensee for fountain products, are pursuing future distribution plans, targeting various U.S. channels including c-stores, colleges/universities, secondary schools, military, bottlers and other distributors.

Based in Foothill Ranch, Calif., Alacer develops, manufactures and markets dietary supplements and nutritionally enhanced products. It produces almost 500 million packets annually of Emergen-C effervescent vitamin drink mix, which is sold in health food stores, c-stores, supermarkets, drug stores, mass merchandisers and club stores nationwide.
