Kellogg's Convenience Rolls Out Kellogg's To Go Protein Breakfast Shakes

Also rolls out new Special K Protein Cafe-Inspired shake flavors

ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Kellogg's Convenience Team has introduced the Kellogg's To Go Protein Breakfast Shakes and new Special K Protein Cafe-Inspired Shake flavors to fulfill growing opportunities in the drinkable nutrition category.

Drinkable nutrition is a $1.6 billion category with great potential, according to the company, citing Nielsen. Some busy consumers are looking for convenient and nutritious options to help avoid skipping breakfast--the highest incidence occurring among C-store consumers, it added, citing The NPD Group. Other consumers are "weight managers" looking for anytime nutrition solutions to help keep them on track and satisfy hunger. These consumers make up the 87% of consumers trying to eat healthier, it said, citing IRI, with more than 50% stating that "healthiness" highly influences their drink choices, said the company, citing Datamonitor.

Kellogg's To Go Protein Breakfast shakes offer consumers a drinkable breakfast solution that provides 10g of protein, 5g of fiber and 5g of total fat in each 10-fl.-oz. bottle.

Kellogg's To Go Protein breakfast shakes are available in three flavors--Milk Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry. These shakes are packed four 10-oz. bottles per carton, with six cartons per case.

Special K Protein Cafe-Inspired shakes offer an anytime nutrition solution with 10g of protein, 5g of fiber and 5g of total fat per 10-fl.-oz. bottle to help keep them on track and satisfy hunger with a kick of caffeine. Special K Protein products are designed to increase daily intake of protein and fiber while managing calorie intake. Diets high in protein (30% of total daily calories from protein) have been shown to help reduce hunger longer.

Special K Protein Cafe-Inspired shakes are available in Chocolate Mocha and Vanilla Cappuccino flavors. These shakes are packed four 10-oz. bottles per carton, with six cartons per case.

Kellogg's is the national leader in drinkable breakfast shakes, holding over 54% of the ready-to-drink category, the company said, citing Nielsen.
