Niagara Bottling Water Recall Includes 7-Eleven

E. coli found in water supply prompts voluntary recall

ONTARIO, Calif. -- Out of an abundance of caution and in the interests of maintaining the highest possible standards for product quality, Niagara Bottling LLC has issued a voluntary recall for all Spring Water products produced from its Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities from June 10 through June 18, 2015. E. coli bacteria were found in the water supply on June 10, 2015.

The product was sold in retailers including 7-Eleven convenience stores. Other retailers included Acadia, Acma, Best Yet, Big Y, Morning Fresh, Nature’s Place, Niagara, Pricerite, Shaws, Shoprite, Superchill, Western Beef Blue and Wegman’s.

“We have not received any complaints of injury or illness of any kind,” Niagara Bottling said in a consumer notice on its website.

Finished product testing has detected no contaminants or issues of any kind, the company added. It is implementing this voluntary withdrawal in cooperation with state and federal agencies.

One of Niagara’s spring sources had a positive indication of E. coli, the company said.

“As the spring source did not notify us in a timely manner, we have discontinued the use of this source,” said Niagara Bottling.

Ontario, Calif.-based Niagara Bottling offers bottled and sparkling waters under the Niagara brand, GamePlan sports drinks, V-ssentials vitamin waters and aragani ready-to-drink iced tea as well as private-label products.
