7-Eleven Sends 'Reporter' to Comic-Con

Comic book artist, writer Art Baltazar previews Cowboys & Aliens, more
DALLAS & SAN DIEGO -- 7-Eleven Inc. has announced it plans to give its fans an insider's look at Comic-Con International, the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world, as seen through eyes of onsite roving "reporter" Art Baltazar. Baltazar, an award-winning comic book artist and writer, will spend five fun-filled days at Comic-Con from July 20-24, bringing 7-Eleven fans and Comic-Con enthusiasts across the country exclusive content and previews for the upcoming movie Cowboys & Aliens, in theaters July 29.

Fans can follow Baltazar's adventures [image-nocss] through 7-Eleven's, Slurpee's and Baltazar's Twitter and Facebook pages.

Cowboys & Aliens is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. It is produced by Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. This summer 2011 "event" film crosses the classic Western and the alien-invasion genres.

7-Eleven's "man-about-town reporter" will be stationed at the Cowboys & Aliens world premiere at Comic-Con on July 23 to give fans an up-close and personal look at all the red carpet action.

Also, 7-Eleven will provide fans with free Slurpee drinks at its Slurpee trailer during Comic-Con; 11 downtown San Diego 7-Eleven stores will offer film-themed freebies daily from July 21-23, while supplies last. Additionally, these select stores will carry an exclusive 7-Eleven collector cup set that features Cowboy & Aliens themed Slurpee cups, Super Big Gulp cups, the light-up Wrist Blaster Slurpee mug and a limited-edition set of playing cards.

Dallas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses more than 8,800 7-Eleven stores in North America. Globally, there are close to 42,500 7-Eleven stores in 16 countries. During 2010, 7-Eleven stores worldwide generated total sales close to $63 billion.
