Alliance Foods Acquires Proactive Sales & Marketing

Move gives the company strategic footing in America’s breadbasket

COLDWATER, Mich. -- Alliance Foods Inc. has acquired Proactive Sales & Marketing (PSM), a Chicago-based retail food brokerage firm. The deal helps expand the supply chain management company’s footprint in the Midwest.

“We are very excited to add a first-class company with a long tradition of excellence to Alliance’s broker business platform,” said Sal Stazzone, president and CEO of Alliance Foods. “PSM’s long-standing presence and deep customer relationships are key factors of consideration when Alliance selects companies for acquisition. Together, our two companies have more than 200 years of presence and experience in the food broker business serving manufacturer vendors and retail customers.”

The acquisition is part of the Coldwater, Mich.-based company’s plan to grow its broker business. Alliance’s business unit National Sales and Marketing will benefit from PSM’s relationships in Chicago and Milwaukee, according to the company.

Alliance Foods is 100% employee-owned with nearly a century of experience in food and nonfood consumer product sales, packaging and supply chain services. Alliance represents 150 consumer packaged goods manufacturers nationally.
